Do you really think the Lord Almighty has changed His promises. The Old Testament is full of history of when Israel went off the rails. The God Most High we fix what is broken and call His people back to repentance. In God’s Time all we proclaim Jesus Christ is Lord. Just trust Jesus Christ through all of this!
I might be operating with a hair trigger because I have see so much hate for Israel. I will go back and read it all but what I said is something I believe.
Now before this verse and others the Israelites had fallen into worshipping other gods. The Lord Almighty was angry with his people. Could Israel be in the same state of practice now?
I won’t say Israel is in the same situation as what has happened in the Old Testament but I still believe the Lord Most High still has plans for His people Israel. This is in God’s Hands.
“”As for you, O house of Israel,” thus says the Lord God: “Go, serve every one of you his idols—and hereafter—if you will not obey Me; but profane My holy name no more with your gifts and your idols. For on My holy mountain, on the mountain height of Israel,” says the Lord God, “there all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, shall serve Me; there I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings and the firstfruits of your sacrifices, together with all your holy things.”
“Election, not ethnicity, is the operative category” this hits the mark. You can literally summarize the whole text into this. Amazing. Well written Pastor Nick.
Of course it is not. I have a remotely related comment, but perhaps interesting to the readers of this blog. During my visit in Tehran, I found with surprise that there was little, if any, hatred towards Israel among the ordinary people.
