Welcome to The Areopagus Letter

Classical explorations of faith and culture by Nick Kennicott.

Where Athens meets Jerusalem. Where Scripture, the Great Books, and the pressing questions of our age come together under the lordship of Christ.

I write to help thoughtful Christians think more clearly, live more faithfully, and recover the rich intellectual and spiritual inheritance of the Church.

Who This Is For

If you’re weary of shallow cultural takes, politicized faith, or feel-good Christianity, and instead want serious engagement with Scripture, church history, and the classics, you’re in the right place.

Whether you’re a pastor, student, parent, or simply a Christian who wants to love God with all your mind, these letters are written for you.

What You’ll Receive

  • Regular essays that bring historic Christian wisdom to bear on today’s cultural, theological, and political challenges.

  • Deep dives into Scripture, church history, and great books.

  • Occasional reading lists, reflections on current events, and practical theology for everyday Christian living.

  • Audio versions of every post (great for commuting or the gym).

  • For paid subscribers: exclusive, deeper studies, video teachings, private community discussions, and my personal gratitude for supporting this work.

Who I Am

I’m Nick Kennicott. I’m a husband, father, pastor, and lifelong student of theology and the classics. I am a former US Army Ranger (1/75 Ranger Regiment). I am the president of the Reformed Baptist Seminary and the resident professor of classical studies. I am the founder of the Institute of Pastoral and Theological Training in Egbe, Nigeria. My PhD focus has been on the Great Books of the Western World and philosophy. When I’m not writing or pastoring, you’ll find me with my family, reading old books, golfing, or cheering for Inter Miami CF and the Denver Nuggets.
